Public Transport Reaches 70% Capacity after COVID-19 in Chongqing

On April 24, the public transport received 5539,000 passengers, exceeding 5 million for the first time since the outbreak of COVID-19. Although the week-over-week passenger flow volume rose by 15.3%, the year-over-year volume reduced by 30.0%.

As the situation is improving, which encourages work/production/class resumption, public transport in the main urban areas of Chongqing welcomes an increasing number of passengers.

All 8,000 buses and 250 Chongqing Rail Transit trains, namely the maximum capacity of the public transport, have been put into operation. Big data platforms have functioned in analyzing changes in the passenger flow. Based on the intensified monitoring of such changes, public transport can realize timely regulation and accurate dispatch.
