Chongqing Donates Epidemic Prevention Materials to Overseas Chinese in El Salvador

On April 28, a shipment of anti-epidemic materials donated by Chongqing to overseas Chinese in El Salvador departed from Changshou District.

Ahead from the United Front Work Department of CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee said that, since the COVID-19 outbreak, overseas Chinese have done everything possible to collect supplies to support their motherland and hometown in fighting against the epidemic. Chongqing people will remember their kindness for good.

El Salvador is the latest country with which China has established diplomatic relations. There are 3,000 overseas Chinese and 300 Taiwanese compatriots or so in the country, with eight overseas Chinese organizations established, including the Salvadoran Chinese Cultural Association and the General Association of Overseas Chinese in El Salvador. At present, the number of confirmed cases in the country is on the rise, and the overseas Chinese here are in urgent need of masks and other epidemic prevention materials. In this case, the United Front Work Department of CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee and Chongqing Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, together with Chongqing Charity Federation, have raised a batch of masks, which will be delivered to the embassy in El Salvador and promptly distributed to them.

In the early days, the United Front Work Department of CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee and Chongqing Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese donated anti-epidemic materials to 68 overseas Chinese organizations in 26 countries and regions in North America, Oceania, Europe, Africa, and Asia.
