The CRT Line 9 Phase I (from Shapingba to Yubei) project has started the production of trains.
So, what's the theme color of Line 9 trains?
As seen from a Line 9 train that is under dynamic debugging, the window strap is purplish red. This is the first time for Chongqing metro trains to use such color.

In trainsets, the train consists of six carriages with a combined length of 120 meters. During peak hours, it can accommodate nearly 2,000 passengers. In the interior layout, more passenger-friendly amenities are added.
One of the enjoyable additions is the ring-shaped handrail. According to a head from Chongqing CRRC Railway Vehicles Co., Ltd., if the door area is crowded, passengers getting on board can support themselves with the handrail and make their way into the main carriage. When the train starts and stops, passengers can use it to keep their feet and protect themselves from tumbling down.
There are also some passenger-friendly changes to seats. On trains of the Phase I project, the seats are divided by partitions to prevent possible sliding movements when the train starts and stops, thereby making the seats more comfortable and safer, introduced Li Fei.
Now, the dynamic debugging of four trains (Phase I) has completed, and the production of the rest is well in progress.
According to the project plan, Line 9 will have 37 trains in operation. Of them, 24 will be produced and delivered at the end of this year, and the remaining 13 will be created and delivered in time, depending on the project progress.
CRT Line 9 is designed as one of Chongqing's main arteries. With a total length of more than 32 kilometers, Line 9 (Phase I) runs across Shapingba District, Yuzhong District, Jiangbei District and Yubei District from southwest to northeast, and passengers can transfer here to Line 1, Line 3, Line 6, Line 10 and the loop line. Once completed, it will make Chongqing urban travel more convenient.
