The above-mentioned groups agreed to increase the running speed of the 300-plus-kilometer Chengdu East Railway Station-Shapingba Railway Station section of Chengdu-Chongqing High-Speed Railway to 350 km/h. They have completed the feasibility study of the project and are waiting for approval from relevant authorities.

"Once the project is completed, it will take only one hour from Chengdu East Railway Station to Shapingba Railway Station with no stop between them. This will further facilitate the communication of the Chengdu-Chongqing region with central and eastern China and improve the high-speed railway network in southwest China", said the relevant head of Chongqing City Transportation Development & Investment Group.

In addition, the four groups will coordinately promote local railway planning and construction, technical construction, operation, and maintenance standards, jointly promote the local railway planning, investment, financing and construction in neighboring areas, and smooth the inner and outer urban rail connection channels in Chengdu-Chongqing region, to accelerate the improvement of regional transportation networks.

By far, Chongqing public transport has been available utilizing bus card and QR code, and QR code has also been adopted in Chongqing Rail Transit.

To promote the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle, Chengdu and Chongqing will intensify efforts on mutual recognition and benefit of public transport ticketing, aiming to realize the mutual recognition of public transport ticketing in their urban areas by the end of this year.

Besides, the two places will strengthen cooperation in transportation planning, industrial development coordination, and cultural integration.
