New Channel Added for Chongqing’s Foreign Trade Export

Chongqing has added a new channel for foreign trade export! On July 1, with the Central Asian shuttle bus full of motorcycles and accessories leaving Banan Nanpeng Highway Bonded Logistics Center (B type) after customs clearance, Chongqing's cross-border highway shuttle bus started a new journey on Central Asian route. On the same day, Yongchuan Port, the first port where the golden waterway of the Yangtze River enters Chongqing, also opened direct foreign trade. The first export shipment business was delivered from Liwen Wharf, which was directly exported to an Asian country after transit in Shanghai.

Chongqing cross-border highway shuttle bus (Central Asia shuttle bus) runs on the route of Chongqing Banan—Xinjiang Horgos Port—Kazakhstan—Uzbekistan, with a total length of about 5,700 kilometers and a time of about 13 days.

The opening of Central Asia shuttle bus is the seventh route of Chongqing cross-border highway shuttle bus, which refreshes the farthest distance of cross-border shuttle bus, realizes the connection of Central Asia land transportation channel, and marks the formation of Chongqing cross-border highway shuttle bus land port in Nanpeng Highway Bonded Logistics Center.

Chongqing cross-border highway shuttle bus, as an important carrier of the International Land-Sea Trade Corridor (ILSTC), has become an important force of Chongqing's opening to the outside world after more than four years of growth. As of the end of June this year, a total of 3,156 buses have been dispatched, with a total cargo value of about RMB 1.99 billion.

On July 1, the agricultural machinery declared by Chongqing Haofa Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ltd. to Yongchuan Customs was delivered from Yongchuan Port, and then directly exported to an Asian country after transit in Shanghai.

In September last year, the customs supervision site of Yongchuan Port was approved for operation, and foreign trade enterprises in Yongchuan and surrounding areas can declare exports nearby. Goods enter the Yangtze River from Yongchuan Port and board export freighters, and by doing so RMB 500-800 logistics cost can be saved for each TEU compared with that from Chongqing Port.

Yongchuan Port Phase I has complete supporting facilities, with an annual throughput capacity of one million tons, a throughput of 80,000 TEUs, and a maximum storage capacity of 2,000 TEUs. In the future, Yongchuan Port is planned to build four 3,000-ton multi-purpose berths and one commercial vehicle ro-ro berth (600 parking spaces) and related supporting facilities, so as to form a wharf with full functions of bulk, container, and ro-ro shipment, and integrate the multi-modal traffic channels of road, railway, water, air, and track.
