Chongqing Witnesses 169 Days with Clear Sky in H1 2020

On July 8, Chongqing Ecology and Environment Bureau announced the ranking of air quality of counties/autonomous counties and districts of Chongqing in June and in the period from January to June. Chongqing had 169 days with good and moderate air quality in the first half-year, increasing by eight days on a year-on-year basis. Specifically, good air quality was kept for 53 days, and average air quality for 116 days.

Nanchuan District performed best among downtown areas

From January to June, the top five districts with poorer air quality among downtown areas are Rongchang District, Hechuan District, Shuangqiao Economic and Technological Development Zone, Jiulongpo District, and Bishan District, while the top five districts with better air quality include Nanchuan District, Wansheng Economic and Technological Development Zone, Beibei District, Fuling District, and Tongnan District. In particular, Nanchuan witnessed 178 days with a clear sky, ranking first among downtown areas.

No air pollution weather appeared in town clusters in the northeast and southeast of Chongqing in June

Town clusters in the northeast and southeast of Chongqing in June had 30 days with excellent and moderate air quality in June. The last three counties with more inferior air quality are Zhongxian County, Fengjie County, and Dianjiang County. In comparison, the top three counties with excellent or moderate air quality are Chengkou County, Youyang County, and Shizhu County.

From January to June, the three counties and districts with poorer air quality among town clusters in the northeast and southeast of Chongqing include Shizhu County, Wanzhou District, and Liangping District, while the top three with excellent or moderate air quality are Youyang County, Pengshui County, and Yunyang County. Specifically, Youyang County ranked first by virtue of its 182 days with a clear sky.
