400,000 KG of Grapes Ripe in Shichuan, Yubei District

The grapes have ripened in early summers, like purple jades. On July 14, the Chongqiao Grape harvesting season kicked off in Shichuan Town, Yubei District. Despite the heavy rains in the past months and the delay of the harvesting season, there is little influence on the yield. This year, the public can enjoy concessionary fees. Why not hang out with some friends and family members, picking grapes and having some free-range chicken and ducks in Chongqiao?

The grapes have ripened.

The villagers of Chongqiao, Shichuan Town, used to grow traditional crops such as corn and wheat, which are not sufficiently diverse and see low income. In 2002, with the help of the Agricultural Commission of Yubei District, the village started to engage in grape planting and introduced varieties such as "Kyoho" and "Rose Fragrance."

Grapes climb all over the trellis in the field of Chongqiao Village, and each bunch carefully wrapped up against insects and birds. They are plump and juicy.

According to the person in charge of Chongqiao Grape Cooperative, the harvest came a few days later than the same period last year due to the excessive rainfall, but it has happened anyway. The grapes will be sweeter if basked in the sun for more days. The 40-hectare field is expected to yield 400,000kg of grapes this year, which is sold at 16-20 yuan/kg.
