Chongqing Vehicle-Road Coordination and Autonomous Driving Development Alliance, initiated by Chongqing Vehicle Test & Research Institute Co., Ltd., was inaugurated in the institute's Jinfeng Base. As the first of its kind in China, this professional alliance is expected to play a significant role in speeding up Chongqing's development of intelligent connected vehicles and smart transportation.

Positioned as the most reliable and credible platform for technology exchange and innovation in intelligent connected vehicles and smart transportation, it aims to boost the industrialization of vehicle-road coordination and autonomous driving, and contribute to Chongqing's development of intelligent automobile and transportation industry.
By vehicle-road coordination, cutting-edge technologies such as wireless communications and the Internet will be introduced to make dynamic, real-time vehicle-vehicle and vehicle-road information interaction and effective coordination between drivers, vehicles, and roads, thereby forming a safe, efficient and green road traffic system," said the head of Chongqing Vehicle Test & Research Institute Co., Ltd.
"Intelligent connected vehicles are playing an ever great role in shoring up the development of Chongqing's automobile industry. So far this year, Chongqing had produced 187,000 smart connected cars, up 23% year-on-year," said a relevant head of Chongqing Municipal Transportation Bureau. Looking ahead, the alliance will focus on technologies and applications related to vehicle-road coordination and smart terminals, channel quality resources to outstanding technological innovation platforms and cultivate innovation-oriented industrial clusters, to offer a springboard for developing a leading area of the smart transportation industry that can underpin and support high-quality development.
