Recently, Chongqing Economic and Information Technology Commission issued the Special Action Plan for Improving the Digitization and Intelligentization of Chongqing's Industrial Design to launch the digital and intelligent industrial design upgrading project, striving to build more than one national digital intelligent industrial design service demonstration platform or park, cultivate more than ten digitized and intelligent municipal industrial design centers, develop 100 demonstration projects of the innovative design of intelligent digital products and introduce and cultivate 1,000 talented people specializing in intelligent design by 2025.

According to the plan, Chongqing will expand its industrial design capabilities in three aspects: application of digital intelligent design tools, design innovation of intelligent digital products, and promotion of overall industrial design solutions. Through the comprehensive utilization of information technologies such as 5G, the Internet of Things (IoT), and big data, the city will build an industrial design service system and facilitate the development of the whole industrial chain of industrial design.
The plan puts forward several key construction tasks to improve the city's industrial design capability. By building a number of demonstrative and open industrial design public service platforms, the city will aim to provide design tools, brand incubation, talent training, and other professional services, focusing on the construction of projects such as Chongqing Industrial Design Industrial City, Ba'nan Industrial Design Industrial Park, and Nan'an Digital Intelligent Industrial Design Service Platform.
The plan also proposes that an information-based platform for the operation and management of the industrial design sector will be established to carry out monitoring, statistical analysis and development evaluation of the industrial design sector, and the special municipal fund for industry and informatization will be ratcheted up to bolster industrial design. A number of famous enterprises, famous products, and renowned experts in the field of industrial design will be cultivated. The city will also guide and strengthen the development of industrial design industry alliance, and expand the reputation and influence of Made-in-Chongqing industrial design by holding events such as industrial design challenges and summit forums.
