Smart Access Control System Enhances Sense of Happiness of Residents of Yubei District

Yubei District has employed artificial intelligence and face recognition technology for access control in recent years. Smart access control has been integrated into efforts to improve people's livelihood, contributing to the building of an intelligent community. Residents have their faces and ID recorded at the community first, and then they only need to scan their faces to enter the gate. The life characterized by smart face-swiping enhances the residents' sense of security, happiness, and gain.

The staff of the community is checking the safety system.

The gate will open automatically as one stands in front of the face recognition machine without an access card. The face recognition machine was installed at Huahui Road Community in Mu'er Town as a pilot project. "The people in and out of the community are all tenants. Everyone has registered with the ID card. Therefore, there are fewer undesirable persons, and residents feel safer." Ms. Li, a resident, spoke highly of the face recognition system.

The security system at Huahui Road Community includes 76 IP cameras in public areas such as corridors and underground garages, and 140 intelligent access control systems at the entrance of 19 blocks. The community thus has four lines of defense, respectively, for peripheral monitoring and identification, barrier gate identification, building access control identification, and elevator floor identification, guaranteeing the safety of 6,655 households.

Yubei District has put efforts into building safer and more satisfactory smart communities since 2018 and equipped six cities of five sub-districts such as Longshan and Shuangfengqiao with intelligent access control. In 2019, a total of 831 sets of smart access control were installed at 18 communities and two public rental housing areas in 10 towns and sub-districts such as Longshan, Lianglu, and Huixing. This year, Yubei plans 540 more sets and will keep optimizing the information system, and strengthening the in-depth use of data, speeding up the construction of smart communities in the district.
