This year, 97 projects will be involved in the urban road construction plan in the main metropolitan area of Chongqing, including the construction of nine bridges, eight tunnels, and roads with a length of 920 kilometers. To promote the interconnection between the districts in the main urban areas, and accelerate the construction of the one-hour commuting circle, Chongqing, in the second half of this year, will speed up the downtown road construction in an all-round way. This will ensure the urban road construction can keep expanding to the central metropolitan area.
Nine bridges and eight tunnels will be built in the main urban area
In 2020, 97 projects will be involved in the urban road construction plan in the main urban area, including the construction of nine bridges, eight tunnels, and roads with a length of 920 kilometers, according to the head of Chongqing Municipal Commission of Housing and Urban-Rural Development.
Lijia Jialing River Bridge is under construction.
The nine river-spanning bridges are: Baijusi Yangtze River Bridge, Zengjiayan Jialing River Bridge, Hongyancun Jialing River Bridge, Shuitu Jialing River Bridge, Caijia Jialing River Bridge, Guojiatuo Yangtze River Bridge, Lijia Jialing River Bridge, Huangjuetuo Yangtze River Bridge, Ma'anshi Jialing River Bridge (double-line bridge).
The eight mountain tunnels are: Longxing Tunnel (Tongluo Mountain), Tuzhu Tunnel (Zhongliang Mountain), New Yanweishan Tunnel (Tongluo Mountain), Tieshanping Double-line Tunnel (Tongluo Mountain), Jinfeng Tunnel (Jinyun Mountain), University Town Double-line Tunnel (Zhongliang Mountain), Taojia Tunnel (Zhongliang Mountain) and Lujiao Tunnel (Tongluo Mountain).
25 pedestrian overpasses and ground passages will be built
In 2020, the construction of 25 pedestrian overpasses and ground passages is planned in the main urban area. In addition, 76 public parking lots with a total of 30,800 parking berths will be built in this area in 2020. Of these, 15 are new projects with 4,300 parking berths, and 61 are previous ones, which will add 26,500 parking berths.
