According to the sources from Chongqing Development and Reform Commission, Chongqing and Sichuan have strengthened their efforts on planning and reserve of major projects. They aim to accelerate the planning and implementation of several significant projects, in a bid to make key breakthroughs and promote the overall development of the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle. To this end, the two sides have recently jointly launched two batches of 31 significant projects, totaling 556.3 billion yuan (about $79.57 billion).
Transportation infrastructure
In the recent list of two batches of projects issued by the joint office of the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle, 19 projects are totaling 451.6 billion yuan about transportation infrastructure involving building the one-hour transport system within Chengdu and opening up major omni-directional access roads to and from Sichuan. They include:
Five high-speed railway quality improvement projects, including Chengdu-Chongqing Middle Line High-speed Railway, Chongqing-Xi'an High-speed Railway, Chongqing-Kunming High-speed Railway, Chengdu-Nanchong-Dazhou-Wanzhou High-speed Railway, and Chengdu-Chongqing High-Speed Railway;
Eleven expressways and fast track projects improving the connectivity in the neighboring areas of Sichuan and Chongqing, including expressways: Nanchong-Tongnan, Neijiang-Dazu, Zizhong-Tongliang, Northern Line of Jiangjin-Luzhou Expressway, Luzhou-Yongchuan, and Kaijiang-Liangping, as well as fast tracks: Yubei District-Linshui County, Suining-Tongnan, and Mingyue Mountain Tour and Health Road;
Three avionics projects expanding the capacity of main lines of the Yangtze River and its main tributaries, including Jialing River Lize Shipping Hub, cascade canalization of Shuangjiang River navigation power junction on the main streams of Fujiang River, and channel regulation in Chongqing section of Qujiang River.

Projects improving logistics networks and ports, stations and logistics connecting internal and external hubs, including Western Chongqing and Southern Sichuan Comprehensive Logistics Park, Chengdu-Chongqing Logistics Distribution Center, Phase I Project of Dashaba Operation Area of Suining Port, Goods Yard Project at Gaoxing Station of Huaying, and Chongqing Weiyuan International Agricultural Products Wholesale Cold Chain Project;
Industrial projects include: Western Chongqing Electronic and Circuit Industrial Park, Bashu Intangible Cultural Heritage Industrial Park, and Daba Mountain International Tourist Resort;
New infrastructure projects such as 5G network coverage and AI integration platform;
According to the joint office, the development and reform commissions of the two places will strengthen the regular scheduling and coordinated advance, ensure the implementation of projects, and make practical efforts to secure elements such as land and capital. Later, both sides will continue to strengthen the reserve and strategic planning of major projects so as to enrich the project list constantly.
