On the morning of August 5, local community staffs carry white cotton battings and quilts in Chongqing, China.
This was the annual Quilt Airing Festival held by the community, where residents can hang their quilts together on the handrail. At the festival, the property administrators and staff carried out the registration, card stacking, guarding, dust removal, and sun drying.

Wang Ling, a property administrator of the community, introduced that in the 13th year of Chongqing Longhu Quilt Airing Festival, the community specially purchased some drying racks and ropes to stage the activity. The property management company of the community also set up these facilities in advance in the open space to render participants a temporary quilt hanging area. To assist the elderly living alone or the residents who have difficulty in walking, the staff offered door-to-door services to collect quilts.
After drying, the staff neatly put each folded quilt in a dust-proof bag with a moisture-proof and moth-proof camphor wood ball and then sent it back to the owner.
Wang said that the number of residents in the community who had signed up for the activity topped 80, with more than 300 quilts, demonstrating that the event has been highly recognized by residents.
