Chongqing Starts Intelligent Manufacturing Capacity Assessment

Chongqing Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology said that from August 6, it would launch the intelligent manufacturing capacity assessment on industrial enterprises across the city, aiming to enhance local intelligent manufacturing information management capability, and accelerate the implementation of intelligent manufacturing in industrial enterprises.

Workers are working in the production workshop of SAIC-Iveco Hongyan Axle Co., Ltd., located in Dazu, Chongqing.

The system is jointly developed by the Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology and the expert team specializing in intelligent manufacturing from Chongqing University, based on national standards such as the Intelligent Manufacturing Capability Maturity Assessment Method. It includes two assessment paths—discrete manufacturing and process manufacturing, with each one consisting of 20 capability subdomains, through which the intelligent manufacturing capability of enterprises can be fully reflected. Through a comparative analysis of the distribution of intelligent manufacturing development index in local districts (counties) and industries, it also can give a panoramic display of the development level of intelligent manufacturing throughout the city.

According to evaluation standards, the intelligent manufacturing development index of the enterprises evaluated ranges between 0-100, including five evaluation levels. Specifically, between 0-20, it is rated as the planning level; between 20-40, it is the specification level; between 40-60, it is the integration level; between 60-80, it is the optimization level; between 80-100, it is the leading level. Of these, the planning level refers to the level at which the enterprise has just embarked on launching intelligent manufacturing and realized intelligent process management; the specification level refers to the level at which the enterprise adopts automation technology, information technology, etc. to transform new equipment and business activities, to realize data sharing of single business activities; the integration level refers to the level at which the enterprise carries out integration of equipment and systems to achieve data sharing across business activities; the optimization level refers to a certain level at which the enterprise, based on the intelligent model, can continuously drive optimization and innovation of business activities, realize industrial chain collaboration and derive new manufacturing and business methods.
