The 4th China Chongqing (Shizhu) Health and Wellness Conference will be held in Shizhu County, Chongqing, from August 21 to 23, and Huangshui Town as the main venue of the conference, according to Monday’s press conference.

Its cohosts are the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang and the Chongqing Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, Zuo Jun, director of Shizhu Country briefed on the conference. Themed with Traditional Chinese Medicine for Epidemic Prevention and Health & Wellness, the conference will include keynote speeches by experts, a seminar on the development of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) industry, and Tujia cultural festival of performances, altogether ten sub-events.

Ten themed activities highlight Shizhu characteristics
Against the backdrop of COVID-19 prevention and control, online and offline activities will be held at the same time.
As for the construction commencement of related projects, it will focus on ten major health care investment projects, with an estimated total investment volume of 5.5 billion yuan. Theses projects involve tourist roads, canyon rafting, tourist real estate, and lake racetracks. The Peking Opera performance of Qin Liangyu was successfully premiered in 2019 and will present to the audience on August 21.
During the event, well-known domestic entrepreneurs, experts in the TCM industry, as well as representatives of universities and scientific research institutes will gather in Shizhu to share the achievements and experience of TCM in preventing and treating COVID-19, discuss the development of TCM industry, and make recommendations for the development of health care industry.
At the opening ceremony, the Annual Report of Health and Wellness Industry Development of China (2019) will be released. After that, six influential domestic experts and scholars will be invited to give keynote speeches on the development of the health care industry under the normalized epidemic prevention and control, the cultivation and processing of TCM materials, and the rehabilitation role of TCM.
Investment promotion and negotiation activities of the health care industry, as well as the Jinyin Inkstone exhibition and seminar, are scheduled on August 22. Moreover, Tujia cultural festival means a large-scale Tujia-style song and dance full of ethnicity, artistry, and appreciation for tourists.
Also, there will be a series of sports events, inspection related to health and wellness in Shizhu County, and the medicinal cuisine food festival.
This year’s conference was incorporated in the three-year action plan (2020-2022) for the construction of Chongqing as an international exchange center in central and western China.
