Recently, Chongqing's Jiangjin District held the meeting on developing five quality tourist routes and advancing the campaign to promote local, high-quality tourism products and cultural and creative products, at which it put forward some measures to do an excellent job in continuing the promotion campaign.
"We will rely on local unique tourism resources, find precise positioning and adapt measures tailored to specific local conditions, to further improve the function and quality of the five quality tourist routes, highlight their features and intrinsic value, and attract tourists from all over the country," said local government officials. Jiangjin will strive to make the promotion campaign into an "exhibition that will never end" and promote the work of cultural tourism to a new level.
Tanghe Ancient Town
A carrot-and-stick approach will be adopted to develop quality routes. Scenic spots along the five routes should plan and carry out all kinds of activities in which tourists can participate while paying attention to landscape construction, to satisfy those in the vicinity and attract those far away. Of these routes, the eastern route will develop rural tour around Qihe Gallery, Taigong Mountain, Luolai Mountain, and other resources, and organize activities such as flower show, gliding, fruit picking, and fishing; the southern route will focus on Simian Mountain scenic spot and host the event on Double Seventh Festival and the traditional "One-Kilometer-Long Banquet"; the western route will focus on Baisha Ancient Town, Jiangji Winery, Tanghe Ancient Town and other scenic spots, and ensure the success of Baisha Film Week; the northern route will connect scenic spots including the former residence of Marshal Nie Rongzhen, Shisun Mountain, and the Great Buddha Temple, as well as organize the Harvest Festival; the middle route will develop urban leisure tour around Marshal Nie Rongzhen Exhibition Hall, Chen Duxiu's Former Residence Exhibition Hall, and Jianggongxiang Mansion.
Jiangjin will support a number of characteristic restaurants and boutique hotels along each route, and make official recommendations through licensing. The district will construct and normatively manage standard parking lots in tourist attractions, and further improve the tourist guide boards. It will also plan to build tourist stations, improve virtual and physical travel guides, and build tourism markets and commodities with local characteristics to stimulate tourist consumption.
