Chongqing- On August 21, the signing event for the 100-day investment promotion of Western (Chongqing) Science City was successfully held, along with altogether 26 projects signed on Friday worth 15.21 billion yuan (about USD 2.2 billion).
The signing event for the 100-day investment promotion of Western (Chongqing) Science City was successfully held in southwestern China's Chongqing Municipality on August 21, 2020.
The contracted projects cover leading industries in Chongqing High-tech Zone such as health, new-generation information technology, advanced manufacturing, and high-tech services.
Participated companies included the world's top 500, the national top 500, the top three in the industry, and high-tech enterprises. The major projects have achieved remarkable results. Among them, seven projects including Didi Qingju’ Motorcycle, Shida Jiguang Technology Internet Digital Industry Base, and Miaozai Biotechnology Research Institute were representatives at the signing ceremony.
The Didi Qingju Motorcycle project will serve the construction of the urban slow-moving system in the Western (Chongqing) Science City to provide citizens with more efficient, convenient, low-carbon, and practical green travel services.
Liu Weidong, general manager of Chongqing Miaozai Ecological Agriculture Development introduced that the Chongqing Miaozai Biotechnology Research Institute project to be located in the Health Industrial Park of Chongqing High-tech Zone has a total investment of 480 million.
It will unite teams of scientists and application experts engaged in biotechnology scientific research from Chongqing University, Southwest University, and Sweden‘s Lund University. It aims to establish a platform integrating scientific research, application, and industrialization.
2020 marks the first year for the operation of the new system and mechanism of Chongqing High-tech Zone. In order to achieve a good start for investment promotion and build an upgraded version of the high-tech zone with high quality, Chongqing High-tech Zone has launched a "hundred-day battle" for investment promotion. It was officially launched at the end of March 2020. During the 100 days, Chongqing High-tech Zone signed 29 projects with a total investment of 30.31 billion yuan. In the first half of this year, Chongqing High-tech Zone signed a total of 39 projects, with a total contractual investment of 60.56 billion yuan.
