i-VISTA Grand Challenge, the most influential brand competition in the global intelligent vehicle industry, has been held for two sessions, raising its brand value. The new edition is slated to take place from September 12 to 15. What are the latest highlights?
The most full-scale events
The four events include Strongest Car Brain Challenge (L5 Self-driving Car Challenge), ADAS Challenge (AEB/APS), Commercialization Process Challenge, and Virtual Simulation Challenge. In terms of competition scenes, events, and participants, this might be the “most full-scale” self-driving car competition worldwide.
The strongest technical support
China Automotive Engineering Research Institute (CAERI) Intelligent Connected Technology Co., Ltd., the undertaker growing out of the CAERI Intelligent Connected Vehicle R&D and Test Center, is the strong technical backer of this competition, as it enjoys competitive technical advantages and rich practical experience in test and evaluation of intelligent vehicles.
The highest competitiveness
The Strongest Car Brain Challenge simulates the L4 and L5 self-driving scenes commonly seen in urban transportation. L5 is currently the highest level of self-driving technologies. To allow participants to showcase their skills, the competition field will feature several upslopes, sharp turns, and complex road conditions like tunnels and humpback bridges. There are also some random scenes. For example, pedestrians run a red light and jaywalk; traffic lights change. These vivid setups are to test vehicles’ abilities to make immediate responses.
The most generous rewards
Except for the prize money used to encourage professional teams, the organizing committee prepares 5G smartphones and Chinese brand cars for consumers joining the ADAS Challenge. Candidates finishing the competition can get a smartphone; the top three winners of any events can get a car. If a car participates in two events and wins any of the first three places, the rewards will be doubled.
