China Internet Week recently released the 2020 China New Economy Unicorn Enterprise Top 150 List, including three Chongqing enterprises, namely Mashang Consumer Finance Co., Ltd., Chongqing Yipinhong Technology Co., Ltd. (YipinFresh), and Chongqing Terminus Smart Technology Co., Ltd. Among them, Mashang Consumer Finance Co., Ltd. ranked among the top 10.

Driven by the wave of the new economy, recent years have seen a significant increase in unicorn enterprises with cutting-edge technology. Most of the enterprises on the list are involved in the field of new-generation information technology represented by artificial intelligence, big data, cloud computing, and quantum communication, the biomedical field represented by precision medicine and gene technology, as well as fields like new energy and autonomous vehicles. Some enterprises also focus on such fields as internet finance, consumer finance, the Internet of Things, and fresh food.

In terms of geographical locations, the 150 unicorn enterprises on the list mainly lie in cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Hangzhou, and only a few of them are situated in western China.
The three selected Chongqing enterprises are in three different fields. Mashang Consumer Finance is engaged in the consumer finance industry, YipinFresh in fresh retail, and Chongqing Terminus in the Internet of Things.
