Design Plan for Cloud Valley at the Western (Chongqing) Science City Unveiled

China Everbright Group announced new progress in building the world's first AI CITY model in Chongqing. On September 23, Terminus, owned by China Everbright Group, published the design plan for Cloud Valley at the Western (Chongqing) Science City. AI CITY is designed to be a data-driven intelligent body where 90% of software- and hardware-generated data will be well analyzed and managed. Data generated at every node will become the driving force of the city. In simple terms, cities of the future will no longer grow old with time, as intelligent iterative upgrading can be realized through interconnection.

Cloud Valley is the first fruit of the partnership between Terminus and BIG, a world-leading architectural firm in Denmark. On April 3 this year, the Everbright AI Industrial Base, with an investment of about 20 billion yuan, was formally located at Chongqing Economic and Technological Development Zone. It aims to build a demonstration base for sci-tech innovation and a city of the future in the intelligent era that can lead the way in China and even the whole world at large.

Driven by the composite interaction of urban entities and hardware units, TERMINUS AI CITY OS (TACOS) intelligent city operation system, and application ecology, the Cloud Valley will develop a brand-new intelligent urban pattern that enables iterative upgrading and oozes vitality through Over the Air (OTA), to lead the pack in global intelligent urban upgrading, said Ai Yu, Co-founder, and CEO of Terminus.

TACOS intelligent city operation system is an industrial platform that enables the seamless connection of the digital world and the real world and mutual integration of isolated systems and strives to drive the overall innovation of intelligent city services through OTA. With this system that consists of more than 100 urban components, all kinds of ecologies, scenarios, industries, services, and contents of AI City can be embedded in the integrated security architecture to realize self urban evolution and growth finally.

Bjarke Ingels, Founder and Creative Director of BIG, said Chongqing's AI City is full of creativity. During the design process, hills and valleys, representative scenic elements of Chongqing as Mountain City would be employed, along with garden and architectural details. For example, at the digital court, all the scenes are fully intelligent in addition to robots that can offer services for a complete range of scenarios. Specifically, trees can automatically move to the other side of the road, or grow larger or change shape according to human needs; sensors at the office area can monitor elements such as temperature and humidity to ensure a more intelligent and comfortable office environment throughout the year.
