In vitro diagnostic (IVD) products and services can be used to detect diseases, make prognoses and monitor a person’s overall health through tests done on samples such as blood or tissue that have been taken from the human body.

The platform and relevant projects have been incorporated in the Western (Chongqing) Science City construction plan. They have welcomed Spot Biosystems from the United States, Artron BioResearch Inc from Canada, and other healthcare companies from home and abroad to join the project.

Ailong Huang, President of CQMU, said at the ceremony that China had a hungry market and huge development potential in the field of medical examination and IVD. However, it lacks representative diagnostic biomarkers and outstanding products for clinical tests, pointing out the country's crying need for original innovation.

Andrew Lee, President of Square One Innovation Center, addressed the ceremony online from Silicon Valley, noting the three parties would build a professional incubator/accelerator for medical diagnosis-based IVD products and work on the introduction of the world’s latest technologies concerned to Chongqing for incubation and industrialization.
