Spokespersons Come to Communities and Help Residents Solve Problems

Chongqing-On October 22, the “Spokesperson Comes-Our Community Life” presentation was held at Yinhua Road Community of Longshan Street, Yubei District. Three official spokesmen from Chongqing City Administration Bureau, Chongqing Market Supervision and Administration Bureau, and Chongqing Medical Insurance Bureau attended the presentation. They answered questions regarding people’s livelihoods such as garbage classification, the safe use of elevators, and medical insurance raised by residents from the neighborhood.

“Could you tell us how to classify garbage in the right way?” One resident raised a question. Yi Hongzhi, the spokesperson from Chongqing City Administration Bureau, explained this question simply. Harmful or toxic waste belongs to toxic garbage like disused fluorescent tubes; waste that can be sold is recyclable garbage like plastic bottles, paper boards; food wastes belong to kitchen garbage, and other types of waste belong to other garbage.

Concerning the question about what to do if someone gets trapped in the elevator, the spokesman from Chongqing Market Supervision and Administration Bureau said if people got trapped in the elevator, they should stay calm at first, push the alarm button, call 96333, and waiting for the rescue.

According to the spokesperson's introduction from Chongqing Medical Insurance Bureau, fabricated hospitalization to get medical insurance was against the law. He appealed to residents to be cautious about fabricated hospitalization and report it to the local insurance bureau if someone induced them to do so.

At the presentation, spokesmen also answered questions from the Internet.

The Information Office of Chongqing Municipal Government hosts “Spokesman Comes” presentations. It has organized government officials from relevant departments to publish information and interpret policies at communities, industrial parks, and enterprises, which would help citizens and enterprises know and use beneficial policies.
