Chongqing- On the morning of Oct. 25, the 2020 Dazu (Chongqing) Longshui Lake Half Marathon kicked off in Dazu District of Chongqing. Altogether 4995 runners ran along the beautiful Longshui Lake with excitement.
The Half Marathon around the Longshui Lake has been held for 5 editions since 2016. This year, the competition organizing committee and runners have shared the common goal - Slowing down, enjoy the fun of running and the amazing views. It is the first label road race competition taking place after the epidemic in Chongqing.

Meanwhile, free tickets to the hot spring in Longshui Lake, and souvenirs such as T-shirts and local winter pickles were given by the commission to runners. Participants who took apart in the 6-kilometer Mini Marathon and the Family Marathon could also got a medal for finishing the marathon and free tickets to the hot spring.

Due to the Covid-19, this year’s contestants number was reduced to half compared to that of last year. The competition commission stuck to principles of the Chinese Athletics Association standard of Marathon and strictly followed the rules of Covid-19 prevention and control required by the nation and local government.
Mr. Zhang, who came from downtown Chongqing, said that this was his first time participating the Half Marathon around the Longshui Lake. Before the competition started, he visited Dazu Rock Carvings, tasted the delicious Youting Fish and DingJiapo Potato(they both are local specialties in Dazu). He was impressed by the beautiful scenery of Longshui Lake, and looking forward to participate in the event next year.
