A total of 32 trading groups from Chongqing are stand by and be ready to bring new orders at the 3rd China International Import Expo (CIIE for short) in the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) starting on November 5th.

Large purchase orders of the last CIIE have been implemented.
As we know, the Chongqing delegation has got fruitful results in last year’s CIIE, and all the orders were carried out successively.
On August 11, the first batch of 84 tons of Brazilian JBS frozen beef arrived in Chongqing via the New International Land and Sea Trade Corridor. This is a project signed by Chongqing Jinshangxu International Trade and Brazil's JBS at the CIIE last year.
The person in charge of Jinshangxu International Trade (Chongqing) said that about 84 tons of Brazilian JBS frozen beef with a value of nearly 4 million yuan was imported from the port of Paranagua, Brazil to Qinzhou, Guangxi Port, and then arrive at Chongqing Tuanjiecun Station. The whole journey takes 48 days, which saves about 20 days compared with traditional transportation. These imported Brazilian frozen beef will be sold through multiple channels, allowing Chongqing citizens to taste high-quality imported beef at the most favorable price.
At this CIIE, Jinshangxu International Trade (Chongqing) hopes to contact and cooperate with exhibitors from Brazil, Australia, New Zealand, the United States, and Russia, mainly purchasing chilled beef, etc. The estimated purchase amount is about 20 billion yuan.
Similarly, the largest order for Chongqing's infant food imports at the CIIE last year was a US$300 million import distribution project signed by Chongqing Yuou Cross-border E-Commerce Co., Ltd., and Groupe Danone.
Regarding the project, the relevant person in charge of Chongqing Yuou Cross-border E-commerce stated that the progress is very smooth. This year, Yuou Cross-border E-commerce will participate in the third China International Import Expo. During the CIIE, the company will also sign a memorandum of cooperation with core partners of international brands. Through in-depth cooperation with international brands, it will bring better and more high-quality products to consumers.
32 Chongqing Delegations are ready to join the CIIE
Data released by the Chongqing Municipal Bureau of Statistics show that in 2020, Chongqing’s total foreign trade import and export volume in the first three quarters was 461.39 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 11.4%. Among them, exports were 291.10 billion yuan, an increase of 10.3%. Imports were 170.38 billion yuan, an increase of 13.3%. Both imports and exports achieved double-digit growth.
Xu Xincheng, deputy director of the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce, introduced that Chongqing organizes more than 1,000 purchasers at each CIIE, and the purchase transactions have been fruitful. Despite the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic, Chongqing is still actively promoting consumption and expanding imports.
On August 18 this year, the 3rd China International Import Expo held a roadshow for investment promotion in Chongqing, mainly for professional audiences such as purchasers in the technology and equipment exhibition area, food, and agricultural products exhibition area.
More than 80 local buyers, including Chongqing Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation (Group) Co., Ltd. and Chongqing General Trading Group, attended the meeting.
At present, the third CIIE is about to kick off. The 32 trading groups and procurement sub-group have been prepared in Chongqing are ready to go.
According to statistics from the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce, in the previous two CIIE, food and agricultural products ranked first in Chongqing's procurement transactions, equipment product second, and medical equipment product third.
This is the result of the expansion and upgrading of the Chongqing consumer market. It is said that a large amount of imported equipment is derived from the development needs of Chongqing's electronic information and other pillar industries.
