Chongqing Delegation Purchases 24 Projects at China Int’l Import Expo

Shanghai- The Chongqing Delegation signed 24 procurement projects at the 3rd China International Import Expo (CIIE) in eastern China’s Shanghai Municipality on November 6. These projects mainly included food and agricultural products, medical equipment, and mechanical equipment.

“The Chongqing Delegation organized 820 registered buyers and 2,412 registered participants for matchmaking and international purchase,” said Wang Jue, deputy director of the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce at the purchases signing ceremony.

To comprehensively improve the level of open economic development, Chongqing will focus on building itself into a pioneering of opening-up in inland China and an international consumption center city.

Purchased projects at the signing ceremony

Generally speaking, medical products represented the most purchased category at the signing ceremony. Specifically, the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University purchased medical equipment from GE Healthcare and Varian Medical Systems; the Children's Hospital of Chongqing Medical University purchased ventilators from Dräger; Chongqing Fuling Central Hospital purchased medical equipment from Siemens and Maquet respectively; the Second Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University purchased SPECT/CT, ultrasound machines, digestive endoscopy, and other equipment from Siemens, Philips China, and Olympus Corporation.

In addition, subsidiaries of the Chongqing Foreign Economic and Trade (Group), or CFTEC, purchased dairy products, iron ore, light cycle oil, and other products. The CFTEC has participated in the CIIE for three consecutive times and has purchased a large number of products each time and purchased a total of 1.35 billion US dollars of products this year.
