1st Week of Italian Mechanical Engineering Roadshow in Chongqing

Chongqing- On Nov. 9, the First Week of Italian Mechanical Engineering (WIMEC) Roadshow in Chongqing kicked off in Liangjiang New Area. Luca Ferrari, the Ambassador of Italy in P.R. China, Wang Zhijie, the vice-director of the standing committee of the Chongqing Liangjiang New Area Administrative Committee, and Paolo Bazzoni, the chairman of China-Italy Chamber of Commerce, had participated in the event in the afternoon. China-Italy Chamber of Commerce aligned with the Manufacturing Engineering Working Group. With the Embassy of Italy in P.R.China's support in China, the Consulate General of Italy in Chongqing, Chongqing Liangjiang New Area Administrative Committee, Chongqing Liangjiang New Area Invitation Investment Group, and Bank of China (Chongqing Branch), the event was successfully wrapped up.

In the morning, business representatives from the Manufacturing Engineering Working Group of China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC), as well as guests of the Liangjiang New Area Investment & Invitation Group and Chinese business representatives joined the factory tour in Sofima Automotive Filter (Chongqing) Co., Ltd. in Liangjiang New Area. Simone Trazzi, the APAC COO at UFI Filters Group, introduced UFI Filters Groups and the factory in Chongqing.

According to Ambassador Ferrari, Italy is the second-largest manufacturing country in Europe and ranks seventh in the world. As one of China's most important national-level new regions, Chongqing has a good foundation for cooperation in many fields, such as industrial manufacturing. Therefore, it is a good environment for the development of Italian companies in Chongqing and southwest China.

On the other hand, Liangjiang New Area has many industries, such as automobiles, electronics, high-end equipment, biomedicine, digital economy, modern service industries, and so on, said Wang Zhijie. Meanwhile, it has a strong momentum of high-quality development, with many key indicators rank first in Chongqing. At the same time, Italy is a strong European manufacturing country, thus, connecting both sides with industrial development. Italian entrepreneurs are welcome to invest in Liangjiang New Area. At the same time, it will actively establish an international urban environment and a first-class business environment, providing high-quality and efficient services for enterprise development.

Moreover, Paolo Bazzoni said that Italy has always been a pioneer in European manufacturing. At present, there are more than 550 CICC members in China and over 50 members in Chongqing. CICC strives to provide good services to enterprises, further promoting more investment and cooperation between enterprises and Liangjiang New Area.

The CICC released the results of the quarterly business situation survey and analysis of member companies of the CICC in the third quarter of 2020. The Sino-Italian Sustainable Industry and Innovation Round Table were held at the end of the event. Different guests and masters gathered there and discussed the investment situation, cooperation proposals, and prospects of Italian companies in Liangjiang New Area.

The event is a crucial element to promote the economy, trade, and cooperation between Italian enterprises and Liangjiang New Area in automobile, engineering, and equipment manufacturing.
