Highlights of Fascinating China Hi-Tech Fair

The annual event of technologies, China Hi-Tech Fair (CHTF), will be held from November 11 to 15, 2020, at Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center. With the theme of  Transforming the Future with Technology and Driving Development with Innovation, this edition incorporates exhibitions, forums, and parallel sessions and covers an exhibition area of over 120,000 square meters.

The CHTF has been seen as a tech bellwether since new products and technologies exhibited came to the market within a few years and attracted much attention. But more importantly, they indicated the development paths of science and technology. What's in store for us at CHFT 2020? Let's take a look at the three highlights and five trends.

Highlight 1: Eye-catching sci-tech fruits of the 13th Five-Year Plan and outstanding footprints in key industries included in the 14th Five-Year Plan

2020 marks the end of the 13th Five-Year Plan and sees foundations laid for the 14th Five-Year Plan. Achievements to-be-exhibited are from national key scientific and technological projects and about fundamental researches, cutting-edge technologies, science and technology for people's livelihood, and transformation and upgrading of traditional industries, which have been realized since the planning and implementation of the 13th Five-Year Plan. They are organized by ministries, commissions, bureaus, institutes concerned, provinces, municipals, and nationwide universities based on footprints in key industries included in the 14th Five-Year Plan. Ministry of Commerce will establish a pavilion under the theme of Science and Technology-based Trade

Promotion and Foreign Trade and Investment Stabilization. It is scheduled to show China's fruits in building a new open economic mechanism and fostering new advantages in international economic cooperation and competition through the science and technology-based trade promotion strategy. Ministry of Science and Technology will demonstrate the results of national key R&D projects around Clean Energy and Intelligent Transportation. China National Intellectual Property Administration is about to show achievements of creation, protection, and application of intellectual property (IP). The IP operation idea, which integrates platform, institutions, capital, industries, and talent, has built a communication platform between high-tech industries and high-end IP service institutions to upgrade service demands continuously.

Highlight 2: Enthusiastic overseas exhibitors and new opportunities pointed out by tech gurus

China is accelerating such strategic emerging industries as digital economy, smart manufacturing, healthcare, and new materials. Given this, it has embraced many new growth points, and poles improved the stability and modernization level of industrial and supply chains and cultivated new competitiveness for international cooperation under the new situation. All of these are creating new cooperation opportunities for global companies. Despite challenging international travel caused by COVID-19, overseas exhibitors are enthusiastic about attending the CHTF 2020. The Belt & Road Area and International Pavilions have set up an international remote exhibition center, allowing online exhibitions apart from the offline ones. 48 delegations from 41 countries, including Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, and the Czech Republic, and international organizations have confirmed to attend this event. Among them, Luxembourg, Montenegro, Slovenia, and Uruguay are new to the CHTF.

Highlight 3: Cooperative innovation of large, small, and medium-sized companies and deep integration of enterprises, universities, and research institutions reflected by rich activities

The CHTF 2020 pools domestic and foreign leading and famous companies, tech micro and small companies, makers, investment and financing institutions, intermediaries, senior government officials, entrepreneurs, economists, and scholars. It has established a platform for policy-related discussions and academic communication, matchmaking between governments, enterprises, and research and financial institutions, and scientific and technological innovation with diverse methods and forms. This event will offer more comprehensive services to investors, who are expected to be invited with greater efforts by Shenzhen Venture Capital Association, Shenzhen Chamber of Investment, Shenzhen Capital Group, Shenzhen High-Tech Investment, investorscn.com, Maker Institute CAS, etc. Meanwhile, Shenzhen Angel Capital Guiding Fund is slated to hold Angle Investing Forum & Shenzhen-Hong Kong-Macao Angle Investors Alliance Conference; Shenzhen Venture Capital Association will host the Big Changes and New Challenges: 20th China Venture Capital Summit; investorscn.com is about to organize GP/LP Investment Forum.
