By JAMES ALEXANDER|Nov 11,2020

Chongqing- Once nighttime sets in every day this winter, the Southern Hot Spring Resort in Banan District lights up in a magnificent blaze of color as the intricately designed lanterns offer a blended display of traditional culture and modernity.

As of September 28th, the Landscape Tea Ceremony and Southern Hot Spring Lantern Festival officially bring visitors an artistic feast of light set amongst beautiful natural surroundings.

The Lantern Festival will open every evening until the end of February 2021 and run through traditional festivals such as Mid-Autumn, National Day, Double Ninth, New Year's, and the Chinese Spring Festival.

This project has been designed and operated by the Chinese Traditional Culture Promotional Association and Chongqing Guangyao Night Sky Lantern Culture and Art Company. The exhibition relies on the attractive natural landscape as a backdrop to display Chinese traditional culture and stories related to Bayu history through light and immersive design concepts.

Modern high-tech 5D technology has been fully integrated to bring a wide variety of effects, including light, shadow, water, movement, performance, fog, as well as a range of audio features.

The scenic route runs 2 kilometers alongside the hot spring resort to the former site of Chongqing No. 10 Middle School. The light's feast consists of 108 displays, and visitors are recommended to spend 90 minutes fully tour the attraction. Admission prices are 80 Yuan for adults with concessions available.
