On November 10, an ARJ21 aircraft landed at Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport. This is the first home-made aircraft for the airport.

ARJ21 is a new type of home-made regional jet powered by turbofan with independent intellectual property rights. It is designed for responding to the takeoff and landing and complex routes over obstacles in the central, western, and northern areas, with good heat resistance in high-altitude areas and resistance to crosswind.

Since the launch of ARJ21 on June 28, 2016, 39 ARJ21 aircraft have been delivered to Air China, China Eastern Airlines, China Southern Airlines, Chengdu Airlines, Genghis Khan Airlines, Jiangxi Air, and China Express Airlines, with 86 air routes opened to 64 cities, carrying 1.3 million passengers safely.

At the beginning of November this year, China Express Airlines signed a purchasing contract of 100 aircraft with Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Ltd., of which 50 are ARJ21 and the other half can be ARJ21 or C919 based on their negotiation.

Since its founding in 2006, China Express Airlines has devoted itself to the operation of civil aviation branch routes. It has established operation bases in some cities such as Guiyang, Chongqing, Dalian, Hohhot, and Xi’an, as well as Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, and opened 165 air routes, with branch routes accounting for 97%.

The addition of the aircraft will enhance the capacity of China Express Airlines and improve the overall layout of the air route network.
