Austria set up booths at the "Belt and Road" special hall.

Wang Jing, Economic Officer of the Commercial Section of the Austrian Consulate General in Guangzhou, said that although Austria is small in size, its machinery manufacturing and precision technology are comparable to Germany's. Austria's “craftsman" spirit is often praised, and they aim to polish the technology to the extreme.

“Austrian government led more than 10 companies to participate at the China Hi-Tech Fair this time,” said Wang. “Austrian enterprises hope to keep trying and finding potential opportunities to cooperate with Chinese companies.”

“Austrian government led more than ten companies to participate at the China Hi-Tech Fair this time,” said Jing Wang.

At the Fair, Austrian booths gathered world leaders from IT communications, driverless driving, artificial intelligence, intelligent manufacturing, super materials, and other fields. Wang believes this will become a strong support for the upgrading and transformation of China’s manufacturing industry, further helping China and Austria form cooperation and gain mutual benefits.

China's market is extremely attractive to foreign investors. In recent years, the closer cooperation between Austria and China has motivated Austria to lead a corporate delegation and participate at the China Hi-Tech Fair.

Furthermore Friedrich Stift, the Austrian ambassador to China, once stated that China's economy had experienced unprecedented rapid development over the past 40 years. In the future, China will provide more and more business opportunities for Austrian companies to explore various industries further.

In 2018, the total bilateral trade between China and Austria reached 13.7 billion euros, and China has become Austria's most important partner in Asia. Dr.Friedrich Stift said that Austrian products and services enjoy a high reputation. Today, more than 900 Austrian companies have settled in mainland China and Hong Kong.

In addition, the number of Chinese tourists visiting Austria has risen sharply in recent years. In 2018, the number of Chinese tourists in Austria had reached 973,000. The Austrian side is very optimistic about this development.
