Chongqing played host to the 2020 China International Freight Forwarding Logistics Industry Development Forum on November 12.
The 2020 China International Freight Forwarding Logistics Industry Development Forum was held in Chongqing.
The event was co-hosted by the China International Freight Forwarders Association (CIFA), the Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation under the Ministry of Commerce, and the Port and Logistics Office of Chongqing Municipal People's Government. The forum aims to promote industry cooperation and exchange and accelerate modern logistics development.
According to Wang Haimin, President of CIFA, the international freight forwarding industry has taken a hard hit from COVID-19 in the first half of the year. CIFA and its provincial and municipal sub-associations have made positive contributions in many aspects, including industry investigation, industry opinion feedback, building smooth financing channels for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, and helping enterprises resume work and production efficiency.
Wang thinks, moving forward, that the international freight forwarding industry should jump at opportunities brought by the times, speed up transformation and upgrading, and contribute to the new economic development pattern of "dual circulation."
According to the Chongqing Port and Logistics Office, Chongqing has made remarkable results in forming an open channel landscape, establishing an open platform system, cultivating a free economy, improving the business environment, and other aspects.
In the future, Chongqing will expedite its efforts in modernizing the logistics system, bring its strengths in logistics to better play, strengthen cooperation with CIFA and industrial enterprises, and build Chongqing into an international freight forwarding center oriented towards Asia and Europe. This will help Chongqing achieve its goal, becoming an inland international freight distribution center and an international intermodal center.
At the forum, CIFA and Chongqing Port and Logistics Office signed a cooperation memorandum to advance the international freight logistics trade and operation center project in Chongqing. They will further expand Chongqing's global influence in logistics.
