Chongqing- Bishan District strives to promote the cooperation between Chinese and foreign enterprises, according to Qin Wenmin, the mayor of Bishan District.

Qin said one of the good examples is that Bishan has promoted the cooperation between Chuantie Electric and the French company CAT regarding advancements in supercapacitor technology.
The supercapacitor is an emerging technology in the field of energy storage systems that can offer higher power density than batteries and higher energy density over traditional capacitors.

In addition, the cooperation between Deren Electronics and Meta System from Italy, and the cooperation between Chongqing Longrun Automobile Steering Gear CO., Ltd and German companies have pushed a number of advanced technologies to be applied in industries, making more and more technical products to be localized in China.
In addition to the cooperation between Chinese and foreign enterprises, Qin continued, Bishan has also been implemented the "Enterprise Growth Plan," encouraging private enterprises to establish professional technology research institutes.
Statistics show that, up to now, 27 new independent R&D institutions, 822 technology-based enterprises, and 220 high-tech enterprises have been established in the District.
Specifically, the R&D investment intensity rate reached 2.85%, and the number of effective invention patents owned by ten thousand professionals reached 11.
Also, 172 research and development institutions, involving cultivation laboratories, technology centers, research institutes, and academician (expert) workstations have been formed in Bishan, accounting for 41%. The companies' scientific and technological innovation capabilities have been significantly enhanced.
More importantly, Bishan serves as an important node of the two-city economic circle in the Chengdu-Chongqing area, as well as an important part of the Western (Chongqing) Science City.

Qin thinks, through introducing the idea of “inviting mergers and acquisitions” and opportunities of “incubation and cultivation,” developing scientific and technological innovation work pattern, and making every effort to promote the construction of technological invention and innovation in Bishan, this will help the District to create a number of pioneering technologies, making influence globally.
