China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Chongqing Committee (CCPIT Chongqing) established its first overseas representative office in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Brazil is the largest country in Latin America by area and population and China's largest trading partner in that region. The head of the CCPIT Chongqing noted Chongqing and Brazil were highly complementary to each other in industries and had much room for economic and trade cooperation.

CCPIT approved to set up the Chongqing Liaison Office of China-Brazil Business Council at CCPIT Chongqing in August 2019; many Chongqing companies, which attended the China-Brazil Economic and Trade Seminar & Annual Meeting of China-Brazil Business Council held in Chongqing in November 2020, said they wanted to cooperate with Brazilian counterparts.

In the future, CCPIT Chongqing plans to open representative offices in more countries along the Belt and Road. The world's major countries and regions are based on its competitive foreign channels and the city and companies' development needs.
