Chongqing- "This year's government work report points out to make an attraction of the Guangyang Island name card. As a participant in the green development of Guangyang Island, I feel immense pride, motivation, and confidence," said Wang Yue, secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of Guangyang Island Green Development Company.
Under strong leadership from the Communist Party of China Chongqing Municipal Committee and the Chongqing Municipal People's Government in 2020, the first phase of ecological restoration on Guang Yang Island was completed according to schedule, forming a 10 km ecological experience loop and six demonstration sites.
After the trial opening of Guangyang Island to citizens, the general public praised the great changes implemented by the municipal party committee and for returning the island to the people. Step by step, Guangyang Island has become a demonstration window for the green development model of putting green development first.
Wang Yue stated that he would push the fast forward button for green development construction in the Guangyang Island Area this year to accelerate major projects such as ecological restorations of the island and Guangyng bay, the Yangtze River ecological civilization college, and the Yangtze River simulator. Ecological restoration, major functional installations, infrastructure, industrial projects, and public service facilities will be coordinated to promote the Guangyang Island Smart Eco-city.
At the same time, the "ecological circle of friends" will continue to be expanded, along with the development of an ecological industry cluster, as every effort is made to build Guangyang Island into an attractive business card under the model of ecology first green development.
