Duan Chenggang, a deputy to the Chongqing Municipal People's Congress, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee, Secretary of the Chongqing Liangjiang New Area Party Work Committee, and Director of the Chongqing Liangjiang New Area Administrative Committee, said that the NPC Chongqing and CPPCC Chongqing Annual Sessions held during a special period and at a key time node are of significance. At the "Chongqing Two Sessions," the annual summary and work plans were scrutinized, together with the work summary of the 13th Five-Year Plan period and development plans for the 14th Five-Year Plan period and even longer periods.
In his speech, Duan highly appreciated the achievements made by Yubei District during the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-2020). He said that thanks to the mushroom growth of the "five-hundred-billion-yuan level" industrial clusters in Yubei District, its annual GDP is expected to reach 200 billion yuan (about 30.9 billion US dollars), making Yubei District remain its first place in Chongqing. The Sichuan-Chongqing Gaozhu New Area has been approved as the first new area jointly established by Sichuan and Chongqing.
Tang Chuan, a deputy to the Chongqing Municipal People's Congress and Secretary of the CPC Committee of Yubei District, said that to build a new model of high-quality development and high-quality life, headway would be made in accelerating the construction of modern industrial clusters, collaborative innovation leading areas, inland opening-up pilot areas, and urban-rural integration demonstration areas. A good start will be made during the 14th Five-Year Plan period by permitting benign economic development and social security and stability. Based on the actual situation in Yubei, deliberate efforts will be made to earnestly implement the key tasks detailed in the report for practical results.

Tan Qing said that the report precisely and concisely summarizes Chongqing's extraordinary journey and excellent achievements in the past five years with the "Five Most," answering all NPC deputies and citizens' expectations.
