Smart Battery Swapping Stations along Chongqing’s Highways Put Into Operation

The first batch of ten smart battery swapping stations in Chongqing's expressway service areas was completed and put into operation On February 2. They enable each new energy vehicle to swap its batteries in just 60 seconds, which is very convenient.

The first batch of 10 smart battery swapping stations in Chongqing's expressway service areas was completed and operational.

These battery swapping stations, built and operated by Geely Technology Group Co., Ltd., lie in five pairs of services areas (two-way), including Jingguan Service Area of Chongqing-Guang'an Expressway, Lihuashan Service Area of Jiangjin-Qijiang Expressway, Weilong Service Area of Chongqing-Chengdu Expressway, Luohuang Service Area of Chongqing Ring Expressway, and Dalu Service Area of Chongqing-Suining Expressway. It is expected that these newly opened stations will release the battery rental price around the Spring Festival. In addition to offering Geely's new energy vehicle batteries for rental, these stations also provide battery swapping interfaces for new energy vehicles of other brands.

Besides battery swapping stations, Chongqing has also built 109 charging stations with 436 piles along Chongqing Ring Expressway, Shanghai-Chengdu Expressway, Shanghai-Chongqing Expressway, Chengyu Ring Expressway, Chongqing-Kunming Expressway, Chongqing Yanjiang Expressway, etc. They have all been put into operation. Chongqing Expressway Group Co., Ltd. introduced that in the next five years, a total of 50 demonstration stations for battery swapping, including those built by Geely Technology Group, will be put into operation in service areas of Chongqing's expressways. This will further improve the city's energy facilities in expressway service areas.

According to Chongqing Economic and Information Technology Commission, the city has built more than 30 battery swapping stations, covering the central urban area, expressway service areas, etc. This year, the city will form a basic battery-swapping network for new energy vehicles, with the central urban area as the core.
