This year, Chongqing plans to intensify efforts to establish an international aviation hub and make overall plans for the coordinated development of airline hubs, feeder airports, and utility airports.

To this end, Chongqing will promote the preliminary work of the new airport, including reviewing the site selection of the new airport and conducting the pre-feasibility study as well as the research on establishing an integrated transportation hub; push forward the construction of the transport airport by accelerating the construction of T3B and the 4th runway of the Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport, expansion of terminals of the Wanzhou Wuqiao International Airport, and the reconstruction of the Qianjiang Wulingshan Airport, so as to improve functions and services of the civil aviation hub.
To promote the development of general aviation, Chongqing will speed up to carry out preliminary work on utility airports in Tongnan and Zhongxian County and give support to the preliminary study on utility airports in Xiushan, Yunyang, and other places.
In addition, Chongqing will continue to research integrated development of passenger travel and expressway operation in the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle and implement relevant projects and launch the preparation for Chongqing's Guide to Intelligent Transportation Technologies, and perfect the transportation industry standard system.
In terms of establishing an intelligent transportation platform, Chongqing will enhance the internal and external connectivity of traffic data resources, establish a traffic data resources exchange system, build an integrated traffic big data center for the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle, and launch the establishment of systems for such issues as comprehensive transportation business management and safety supervision of road transport of dangerous goods.
Meanwhile, Chongqing will commence constructing the expressway IVICS pilot zone and intelligent expressway service area platform and establish the intelligent construction site management platforms for demonstration projects like the Extension of Chongqing-Hunan Expressway, Wuxi-Yunyang-Kaizhou Expressway, and Lize Shipping Hub.
By improving the operation and service level of intelligent public transport, Chongqing will boost the construction of intelligent bus passenger terminals for Dianjiang and Wanzhou and build the Guobo station and Yuelai station on Chongqing Metro.
To enhance the construction of main and tributary waterways, Chongqing will spare no effort to build a shipping center on the Yangtze River's upper reaches.
According to this plan, Chongqing will strive for the commencement of the Wanzhou Xintian Port (Phase II), Yubei Luoqi Port (Phase I), and Huangqian Port (Phase I), facilitate the construction of the Fuling Longtou Port (Phase II) and Jiangjin Luohuang Port, and complete the construction of and put into use the Guoyuan Port (Phase II & Expansion) in the main urban area and the Xinsheng Port (Phase I) in Zhongxian County, thus creating a cluster area of modern ports.
