Since the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle was first proposed on January 3rd, 2020, as part of a national strategy to achieve high-quality development as well as creating an open inland strategic high ground in Western China. The twin city economic circle has focused on a wide variety of areas for deeper integration and sharing of resources.

It aims to turn the Chengdu-Chongqing area, which is in southwestern China, into an important economic center, a center for scientific and technological innovation, a new highland for reform and opening up, a livable place with a high quality of life, and a crucial driver of the country’s high-quality development.

In terms of the New International Land and Sea Trade Corridor, it has now developed into a mature international trade route. The New Land-Sea Corridor further makes Chongqing into a logistics hub, as it is where the China-Europe freight service, the New Land-Sea Corridor, and the Yangtze River Golden Waterways gather.

Statistics show that over 500 categories of commodities are being exported through the New Land-Sea Corridor, to 249 ports in 95 countries and regions throughout last year.
