As of March 14, 2021, China Railway Express (Yuxinou) (Chongqing-Xinjiang-Europe) has operated nearly 7,600 trains since the line came into use in 2011, and its annual freight value always ranks first among all the lines of China Railway Express, according toYuxinou (Chongqing) Logistics Co., Ltd.
Over the past ten years, on the road of innovation-driven development, China Railway Express (Yuxinou) has achieved a number of initiatives in China and even in the world. For example, it issued the world's first railway bill of lading, providing a new model for exploring international land trade rules. China Railway Express (Yuxinou) has become the first railway line to cooperate with cross-border e-commerce, the first railway line to use thermostat containers, and the first international freight line to transport international mails. The railway line has explored a series of replicable experiences, playing a leading and exemplary role in promoting the development of China Railway Express.
More than 60 cities across the country have operated trains of China Railway Express, forming three international railway corridors in west, central, and east China. The transportation network covers the main regions of the Eurasian continent, has become the backbone mode of land transportation in international logistics, and promotes the construction of a new development pattern.
Asia-Europe international cooperation
The ten-year operation history of China Railway Express (Yuxinou) is full of innovation and opening-up. Since its inception, the railway line has shouldered the heavy duty to get through the blockages and promote foreign trade and has boldly explored a series of innovative mechanisms. It unified the waybills of the two major railway systems in Asia and Europe for the first time. It realized China Railway Express's customs clearance mode with a one-off declaration, one-off inspection, and one-off release in countries along the line.
China Railway Express (Chongqing) to Europe
Amid the pandemic in 2020, China Railway Express (Yuxinou) built a lifeline for the transportation of pandemic prevention and control materials in international cooperation. The line also successfully launched the first "China Post" train in the country, opening up a new channel for emergency transportation of international mails, and achieved stable operation, with the annual transportation volume of over 20 million mails ranking first in China. "This year, the operation of the trains of China Railway Express (Yuxinou) dedicated to the B2B export in cross-border e-commerce has become a major channel innovation for the development of the section," said a relevant person in charge from Yuxinou (Chongqing) Logistics Co., Ltd.
In order to help open China's door wider to the world, the company took the lead in operating an international railway intermodal line to Hanoi, Vietnam. With the stable operation of the line, the freight sources are further enriched. The outbound trains carry chemical products and light industrial goods such as shoes and hats, while the inbound trains carry electronic products such as multimedia players and display screens. The line plays an increasingly important role in promoting "channel-driven logistics, logistics-driven trade, and trade-driven industry."
Inland open-up highland
China Railway Express (Yuxinou) is the only line with two departure stations, namely Tuanjie Village Station, Shapingba District and Yuzui Station, Guoyuan Port, Liangjiang New Area.
The first Chengdu-Chongqing freight service on the China Europe Railway Express leaves the Chengdu International Rail Port.
The trains departing from Yuzui Station have connected the last mile of international water-rail intermodal transport for China's inland areas, making the goods from the upstream waterway of the Yangtze River reach Central Asia and Europe. Meanwhile, goods and products of Europe and Central Asia can also be transported to east China and East Asia from Yuzui Station.
On New Year's Day 2021, Chongqing and Chengdu jointly launched China Railway Express (Chengdu-Chongqing) to create the first brand of China Railway Express covering all regions of Europe, opening a new chapter of high-quality development of China Railway Express.
According to the relevant official in charge from the Port and Logistics Office of Chongqing Municipal People's Government, Sichuan and Chongqing will jointly operate trains of China Railway Express to expand the brand influence of the international logistics corridor and promote the integrated development of the corridor with logistics, trade, and industry in the two regions through short, mid-and long-term plans.
