Specifically, researchers cultivated novel coronavirus and killed the pathogen; the vaccine developed is expected to stimulate the immune system to protect the body against infection. Technologies to develop inactivated vaccines are mature, standing the test for over a century.

The safety of the COVID-19 inactivated vaccine has been fully verified in the preliminary tests, and there is enough proof to say it is effective.

An economical and effective measure

Why did the COVID-19 vaccine be developed in such a short time? Experts gave two reasons. First, the technologies to develop inactivated vaccines are relatively mature. Second, the country pays great attention to it. During the research and development of COVID-19 vaccines, review, verification, and examination have been integrated to improve the efficiency of relevant work and speed up the vaccine's launch.
