Uruguay Football Club (Summer Camp in Hainan) Launched in Chongqing

Chongqing-On April 1 st, the Uruguay Football Club's launching ceremony (Summer Camp in Hainan) was held at the Consulate General of Uruguay in Chongqing. Mr. Fernando Lugris, Ambassador of Uruguay to China, Ms. Agustina Casavalle, Deputy Consul General of Uruguay in Chongqing, Mr.Lam Yau Sun, Chairman of Global Magellan Cultural Sports Events & Auction Co Ltd. and Mr. Mariano Fernandez, Program Director & Head Coach of Uruguay Football Club attended this launching ceremony.

Mr. Fernando Lugris, Ambassador of Uruguay to China, introduced the remarkable football history of Uruguay at the launching ceremony. He said football is a significant part of the culture and history of Uruguay. Uruguay has made many outstanding football achievements and gained an exceptional number of victories in football history worldwide. He said that although Uruguay and China were far away from each other in distance, the two countries held an excellent friendship. He hoped two countries would deepen exchanges through football.

According to the introduction, Uruguay Football Club is a multidimensional football training academy formed by a partnership between the Ministry of Sports of Uruguay with support from the Uruguay Embassy in Beijing and the Hainan Provincial Government. Mr.Lam Yau Sun, Chairman of Global Magellan Cultural Sports Events & Auction Co Ltd., introduced the club and said the vision of the club was to build an ecosystem that means students will not only learn the best football skills but also have a chance to access the culture, history, and food of Uruguay.
