Telling the Story of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle

Chengdu – Setting out from Chengdu, members of foreign and local media embarked on a trip organized by the Sichuan and Chongqing foreign affairs offices to explore the Chengdu-Chongqing economic  circle on May 10.

This trip was organized to help understand the measures and achievements o the construction of the economic  circle. This trip provides a unique opportunity to gain valuable insight into the project as a whole as well as the progress that has been made so far on the collaboration between Chengdu and Chongqing.

Following a brief meeting in Chengdu on the morning of May 10th, the group first visited the Southwest United Property Exchange. Property rights management and the property rights trading market is an important institutional guarantee for promoting and standardizing the circulation of state-owned assets. Property rights management is of great importance for the construction and the development of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic  circle as well.

The next stop was the Tsinghua Sichuan Energy Research Institute. The energy internet is a new type of ecological energy system. It integrates the concept and the technology of the internet as we know it today and the production, storage, and consumption of the energy market. The institute is committed to promoting energy consumption, supply, and technological revolution. The internet remains a new frontier and the possibilities afforded with higher speeds and 5G will be crucial for future high-tech developments.

Finally, the group of media representatives visited the Chengdu Human Resources Service Industrial Park, a unified complex that centers around the allocation and recruitment of personnel services, a function that becomes increasingly important as new businesses are founded and the younger generation starts to enter the workforce. One special company inside the human resource service industrial center is dedicated to working with people with disabilities, helping them find a suitable job and a career, so they can find their rightful place. Many of the staff in the company, do themselves have some sort of disability. People are our most valuable resource, and companies like these that can help everyone find their dream job will help strengthen the bond between Chengdu and Chongqing, especially now that traveling between the two cities is faster than ever before.
