Chongqing, Liangjiang New Area and Marubeni (Shanghai) Sign Agreement for Resource Integration

On the occasion of the opening of the 3rd Western China International Fair for Investment and Trade (WCIFIT), Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce, Liangjiang New Area Administrative Committee and Marubeni (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. signed a framework agreement for strategic cooperation on May 20, 2021.

This cooperation among the three parties will rely on their respective comprehensive advantages in the industrial base, inland international logistics hubs, commercial trade resources, open resources and other aspects. They strive for all-around strategic cooperation in trade and logistics, finance, third-party market cooperation and other fields, so as to help Chongqing to create a new height for opening-up and attract investments from more enterprises.

To make solid progress in cooperation, the three parties will jointly establish a cooperation mechanism, facilitate the launch of projects and expand cooperation platforms, thus achieving mutual benefit and win-win results by integrating their own advantageous resources.

Founded in 1858, Marubeni Corporation is a representative integrated business of Japan and it ranks 173rd among Global 500 companies. The company is mainly engaged in domestic and foreign trade and international trade in commodity technical services. It has an active trade relationship with China in such fields as machinery, complete equipment, steel, nonferrous metals, chemicals, energy, textiles, grain and oil and it has successively established sole-proprietorship companies or branches in Beijing, Shanghai and other places.
