The signing ceremony of major projects of the third Western China International Fair for Investment and Trade (WCIFIT) was held at Chongqing Yuelai International Convention Center on May 21.

A total of 102 projects were officially signed, with a total contracted investment of RMB 228.5 billion (about USD 35.55 billion). The signed projects are high-end, refined, and sustainable, involving intelligent manufacturing, high-end equipment, municipal facilities, bio-medicine, clean energy, electronic technology, health care, cultural tourism, and many other fields.
Manufacturing
The signing focused on the real economy, covering new-generation information technology, high-end equipment, new materials, biotechnology, modern logistics, health maintenance, and other fields. Many projects have strong technological elements.
Among the hundreds of projects signed, the manufacturing industry dominates, with 48 projects signed such as Yadea Electric Vehicle Import and Export Production and Manufacturing Base, with a contracted investment of RMB 120.98 billion, which will help Chongqing promote the advanced industrial base and modernization of the industrial chain as well as enhance the stability and competitiveness of the supply chain and the industrial chain.
Green development
On that day, clean energy and green development became the hot fields for investment, with 11 projects signed and contract investment of RMB 34.4 billion, which became an epitome of Chongqing actively responding to the call of "peaking carbon dioxide emissions and realizing carbon neutrality" and exploring new ways of green development.
In recent years, the WCIFIT has become an important bridge for international investment and trade. 62% of the projects signed in the last two sessions of WCIFIT have been transformed into implemented projects, which have served Chongqing's high-quality development and the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle.
