According to the Chongqing Ecology and Environment Bureau, Sichuan and Chongqing will continuously seek improved levels of cooperation. Furthermore, they will join hands to advance the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle and endeavor to make the Chengdu-Chongqing area a high-quality livable place with national influence.
The agreement calls for mutual recognition of the evaluation results of service capabilities such as pollution control and facility operation in Sichuan and Chongqing, mutual recognition of service capabilities and credits of their environmental protection enterprises, and regular joint conferences and work coordination meetings.
They are slated to build an industry exchange platform for environmental protection enterprises in the two places by jointly holding such activities as forums and technical seminars and undertaking the Western China International Environmental Protection Expo.
Meanwhile, Chengdu and Chongqing will cooperate in collecting new equipment, new technologies, and the most useful technologies for environmental protection, as well as in the co-building and sharing of an environmental technology information database.
They will carry out statistical surveys of the environmental protection industry in both places, formulate unified standards related to the industry and make cross-regional development plans for the industry in Sichuan and Chongqing.
The Chengdu-Chongqing area plans to facilitate collaborated innovation among enterprises, universities, and research institutes for regional environmental protection, make key core technical breakthroughs in environmental protection and advance the establishment of an environmental technology innovation center and a national environmental protection engineering center.
More importantly, the environmental protection industry of the two cities will mobilize and lead environmental protection enterprises in the building of Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle and Yangtze River Economic Belt, boost the regional economy, protect the environment, and seek high-quality development of the environmental protection industry in Sichuan and Chongqing.
