The First “German May Day” Held in Chongqing

Chongqing - On the evening of May 29th, the first "German May Day" in Chongqing was held at Shancheng Alley. Consul General Rudischhauser Wolfgang of the German Consulate General in Chengdu, staff of German companies' offices in Chongqing, German Chinese investing in Chongqing, students returning from Germany, and entrepreneurs interested in German investment, trade, and cultural exchange attended the party.

The first "German May Day" in Chongqing aimed to expand cultural exchange and build an interactive platform with German food and culture in conjunction with the "May Day" tradition practiced in Germany for more than 400 years.

Rudischhauser Wolfgang, Consul General of the German Consulate General in Chengdu attended the event and delivered a speech. He said that more and more people in Sichuan and Chongqing are engaged in expanding cultural exchanges between China and Germany, and these exchanges allow people of different backgrounds and cultures to get to know each other better.

After the speech, a performance was held to express the welcome to the guests and friends who came from far away. At the event site, the German restaurant Gebr. Wurst prepared authentic German food and wine for the guests. The delicious sausages and beer received unanimous praise.

The first "German May Day" maintained the friendly relationship between the Germans in Chongqing and the locals, enhanced the cultural exchange between them, and built an interactive exchange platform.
