Chongqing- The first-ever Wuling Moutains Cultural Tourism Summit occurred between May 25-27th at a popular Fairy Mountain resort in Wulong District, Chongqing. Representatives from tourism boards and industry met to discuss greater integration within the Wuling Mountain range that encompasses 81 counties and districts between Chongqing and Hubei, Hunan, and Guizhou. 

The first day saw a meeting of the Wuling Mountain Development Alliance. Local representatives voiced practical suggestions on how tourist attractions and resorts should cooperate better to entice greater numbers of visitors and share tourism resources.

On the second day, large forums were held to discuss cooperation and development needs in more detail. The key proposals included constructing a three-hour transportation circle, where tourists can travel to any other Wuling Mountain destination within a three-hour time frame on modernized road infrastructure.

Unified tourist services were identified as a key area for improvement, such as a common website for tourist information. Additionally, speakers discussed the need for integration into the neighboring tourism corridors of the Yangtze River Three Gorges and Sichuan Province.

The closing ceremony was marked by signing contracts worth 140 billion yuan among companies and organizations in the national tourism industry. In addition, guests were treated to a special open-air concert on the beautiful grasslands of Fairy Mountain.

Performances featured song, dance, and music that represent the cultural heritage of the Wuling Mountains and neighboring regions, such as Sichuanese Opera and Jielong Percussion from Chongqing, which delighted the audience on a fine evening to enjoy the show amidst idyllic surroundings.
