Chongqing- One of the things I like to do the most is simply head out, camera in hand, and find places to photograph. It is a hobby that I have had to put on the backburner for a little bit, but now I have more time between my hands, and I am finally able to go out, even in Chongqing's hot summer months, and enjoy the scenery around me. Today, I got up early to go to the Guanyue Temple, an ancient Chinese temple of more than 400 years of history, located near Daping in Yuzhong District, downtown Chongqing.

Photography is as much about light as it is about the subject you're photographing. For buildings and cities in general, I often opt to try and photograph early in the morning or around sunset. Right now the sun comes up at around 6 in the morning, but the temple doesn't open until 8, so that is when I arrived here, to try and make use of the morning light before it got too bright.
