Chongqing- Themed with Empowering Economy, Enriching Life, The Smart China Expo 2021 (SCE2021) will kick off at Chongqing International Expo Center from August 23 to 25 this year. Each year, SCE launches a series of exhibitions, forums, as well as various competitions. On August 15, the SCE2021 committee announced at the press conference that, six competitions including Sino-Swiss (Chongqing Liangjiang) Cup International Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, i-VISTA Self-Driving Competition, Youth Big Data Intelligent Innovation Entrepreneurship Competition, are about to take place very soon. The competitions are becoming excellent landing points for these scientific research teams to attract investment and attention.

In SCE2020, 24 enterprises made it to the final round of the Sino-Swiss (Chongqing Liangjiang) Cup International Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, the competition took the "live roadshow and defense" form, and the best teams were chosen finally, the winners are Suanzi Science and Technology, Grapin supercomputing servers and data centers, Attolight advanced semiconductor testing, Swisstec 3DAkus laser precision machining equipment, Middlesex automated logistics system and Qingwen Science and Technology.
After the competition, Suanzi Science and Technology got investment from Sino-Swiss (Chongqing Liangjiang) Technopark International Incubator. Its research and development center will open in Chongqing, specializing in AI algorithms, computer vision, and image processing. At the same time, Swisstec 3DAkus laser precision machining equipment is negotiating with Technopark for choosing a site for landing in Chongqing.

Sino-Swiss (Chongqing Liangjiang) Cup International Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, also known as Smart Liangjiang Global Cloud Entrepreneurship Competition (Europe), is organized by Sino-Swiss (Chongqing Liangjiang) Technopark International Incubator. As an important platform for the development of Liangjiang New Area, it focuses on introducing leading industry projects from European countries, and more than 30 enterprises and institutions from Switzerland, France, Italy, Australia, Hungary, the United States, and other countries have signed contracts and settled.
Benefited from the environment of innovation, marketization, internationalization, and legalization, Liangjiang New Area supports Sino-Swiss (Chongqing Liangjiang) Technopark to seek for start-ups or small and medium-sized enterprises at home and abroad in the fields of intelligent manufacturing, information technology, health care, education consulting, energy and so on, to provide incubation for their growth and development, and to introduce them to the International Incubator, to help them to obtain development opportunities in the international market.

The echoes of the International Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition continued. On May 21, 2021, the China-Europe Urban and Regional Cooperation Innovation and Sustainable Cooperation Seminar were held in the Sino-Swiss (Chongqing Liangjiang) Technopark. On the day of the event, "Mannheim (Rhine-Neckar) -Chongqing Center" was opened respectively in the Technopark and Mannheim Manifex Technology Center.

Located in southwest Germany, Mannheim is Germany's second-largest shunting hub and Europe's largest river port. The Rhine Neckar metropolitan region, where it is located, along with Frankfurt/Rhine Maine and Karlsruhe/Stuttgart-Rhine Neckar metropolitan region, constitutes one of the most economically powerful regions in Europe.

As early as 2006, the National Development and Reform Commission and the European Commission established the China-Europe regional policy dialogue mechanism. Chongqing was included in the China-Europe pilot areas for cooperation in typical cases in 2016. In 2017, Chongqing and Mannheim officially established a relationship on the municipal level. At present, the two cities have made initial achievements in many fields of cooperation. The settlement of "Mannheim (Rhine-Neckar) -Chongqing Center" will further promote open cooperation in government exchanges, industrial cooperation, scientific innovation, sports, culture, education, tourism, and other aspects between Chongqing and Germany, Switzerland, and European countries.
The 2021 International Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition have collected more than 100 applications from China, Switzerland, Germany, Norway, Canada, Croatia, and other countries involving the fields of Internet, IT, ICT, big health, new energy, and so on. Besides that, "Mannheim (Rhine-Neckar) -Chongqing Innovative R&D Platform" also signed a cooperation agreement with the Competition, which makes this year's event more rich and diverse. The Platform introduced five programs from Germany (HighLine Technology, HD Vision System, AUCTA, Greenventory, Nxtbase Technologies) and one program from Italy (Enapter), all of these facts show that the Competition - Incubation - Cooperation model of the SCE has achieved remarkable results.
