Chongqing Becoming Forefront and Leader in Smart Manufacturing- Augmentus

Chongqing- For robotics to drown out the hype and become more mainstream in food, agriculture, and other industries, it needs to make “factories less dependent on expert suppliers and engineering departments,” consultancy McKinsey said in a research report. That’s exactly what Singapore-based Augmentus is on a mission to do.

Robotics are accessible to everyone

Founded in 2019, Augmentus is an AI-robot programming platform used by the world's leading robotics and advanced manufacturing companies. They offer a no-code and fully integrated programming software that enables anyone to program dynamic industrial robots in minutes, even those with no robotic experience.

The company's proprietary technology incorporates an easy-to-use graphical interface that eliminates the need for coding and CAD files enabling up to 17 times faster programming and integration across various industrial applications.

"Imagine that we are using an iPad, where you can just drag and drop something, and this can be applied in complex algorithms and complex models,” said Daryl Lim, Director of Augmentus.

“With the growing adoption of industrial robots in industries such as manufacturing, automotive, and farming, Augmentus is on a mission to bring greater efficiency to the industry by lowering the time, cost, and skill barriers," said Lim. "Ultimately, we want to make robotics accessible to everyone to use in any application imaginable."

Excited to work with China

As the largest automobile production site with potentially great needs for industrial robots, Chongqing becomes one of the forefronts and the leaders in the manufacturing industry, said Daryl Lim, Director of Augmentus.

Li Hong, deputy director and spokesman of Chongqing Finance Bureau, said that the manufacturing industry became the strongest engine driving the industry of Chongqing and even the whole economy in the first half of the year 2021. The high-tech and strategic emerging manufacturing industries' added value increased by 31.9% and 30.1%, respectively, driving the growth of industrial tax revenue by 34.9% and contributing 41% of the tax increase.

According to Lim, Augmentus has already formed a partnership with China's regions. "China is one of the leading manufacturing houses globally, where there are lots of use cases around robotics in China," said Lim. "We are very excited to be part of the SCE 2021, and we definitely would love to see how we can come together and collaborate to introduce this kind of solution to the widespread Chinese market."

"Infocomm Media Development Authority of Singapore has extensively promoted collaborations and partnerships between Chinese companies and Singapore companies," said Lim. "We're very excited to be working very closely with our Chinese counterpart and China, and we've seen technology collaboration in Singapore which has been popping a lot of resources into technology development in China regions."
